Metro

Everyone has a Metro story.

I’m sure that this is just the same as the way that everyone had a Connex story. For instance, my Connex story would be the time I wanted to catch the train from one station to the next station, six hundred metres away¹. Every time I pressed the green “tell me when the next train is please” button, it said, “The next train is in three minutes.”

It said this every time anyone pressed this button FOR AN ENTIRE HOUR. Then the train came.

But this entry is about my Metro story. Because, justly derided as Connex was, Metro seems to be about a hundred billion trillion times worse. Maybe it’s just that I didn’t catch trains often enough before this year to recognise Connex’s true nature, but I don’t know. It’d be pretty hard to do worse than Metro.
