I hate being sick

In the past couple of weeks, this terrible virus has been spreading like wildfire through my school. I think it's just an ordinary cold, but that doesn't change the fact that it still feels horrible to catch it.

Many, many people have been infected with this cold and yesterday, it was finally my turn to succumb to its symptoms. I have no idea who I caught it from -- to be honest, it could probably have been anyone in the entire school since I'm sure they're all carriers by now -- and that's really annoying, since now I have no one to blame! Usually when I get sick I can blame my sister, since she always gets infected with things before me. Just not this time.

I hate being unable to breathe through my nose when I'm trying to sleep when my nose has got blocked. I hate having a really itchy throat that I can't do much about. I hate that lozenges make my nose less blocked, but make it start running. I hate sneezes in which the snot isn't simply expelled from my nose, but turns into this gooey, sludgey mess and hangs down from my nose, leaving me no choice but to scurry off and find a tissue. I hate the great pools of snot that land on my desk chair's arms and even on my laptop's power adaptor or whatever it is.

Suffice it to say, I hate being sick.

comments
