I opened my inbox today to see that I'd received an invite code to Dreamwidth. Obviously, I excitedly registered and now here I am, writing an entry! This is very, very cool. I think I will save my ramblings as to why it is cool for another journal, because I'm sure everybody here already knows. But yes. I'm excited. xD
I'm not yet entirely sure what I'm going to use this journal for. Perhaps I'll use it as motivation to get writing (fiction, not essays!) again, and post it here. Perhaps it'll supplant my LJ's purpose as a place where I ramble privately about my life. Perhaps I'll just ramble, even though I already have multiple other outlets for rambling. Who knows, really?
Even though I don't yet have plans, I'm very happy to have an account. I like the idea of Dreamwidth -- the transparency, the consultation, and the freedom of expression talked about in many places. That's the kind of site and community I want to be a part of. So yay, excitement!
